Ruby Lorrine Hayward

Ruby L. Hayward,  71, of Charlevoix, passed away on December 21, 2022 at her home.

   She was born on May 15, 1951, in Hazard, KY, the daughter of Mason and Rosie (Jones) Vires.

   Her and her husband were long time caretakers of the Miranda Ranch on South Fox Island.   Besides the every day care taker duties, she was the head cook.

   On December 16, 1978, in Pontiac, MI, she married Rodney J. Hayward who survives.

   Also surviving are a son Wayne Eubanks of Charlevoix, 2 grandchildren, Jamie and Brandon Eubanks, a great-grandson Dash Nimbus Eubanks, 2 brothers, Eli and Wade Vires, 2 sisters, Jodie and Debbie Vires as well as several nieces and nephews.

   Preceding her in death were her parents and 3 sisters, Mary, Jeannie, and Wilma.

   No services are planned at this time.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

   Arrangements are under the direction of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
