Rosemary May Rowley, 81, of Kalkaska, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014. Rosemary was born May 21, 1932 in Dewitt Township, the daughter of Albert and Esther Hurlbut. On July 6, 1957 she married Claude E. Rowley Jr. in Charlotte, Michigan. Rosemary enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She loved sewing, crocheting and making a house a home for her family. She was a lady that many said reminded them of "Aunt Bea." Rosemary was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, her son, Paul Thomas Rowley, February 13, 1964 and her son-in-law, Eric W. Jones, July 25, 2012. She is survived by her husband, Claude E. Rowley Jr. of Kalkaska; a sister, Marion Baker of Petoskey; her daughter, Tina Jones of Mancelona; three grandchildren, Shannon (Robert) Schauer of Ithaca, James Mawhorter of Harker Heights, TX, and Christina (Christopher) Funk of Red Deer, Alberta Canada; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Schauer, Lillian Schauer and Avry Funk; and a very special sister-in-law, Ingrid Simpson of Ypsilanti. There will be a celebration of Rosemary's life in the spring, her favorite time of year. Rosemary will be greatly missed by many.
