Rosalyn J. Goldstick completed her most incredible poem of life on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 97 years young. She was born to David and Esther Lieberman on September 8, 1919 in Sapulpa, Okla. Her family moved to Atchison, Kans. where she attended school and business college. Too short to enlist in the Armed Forces and too small to tackle teaching high school students, she worked for a doctor until World War II and then for a factory providing food supply to the troops. Rosalyn met Clarence E. Goldstick while at the U.S.O./G.S.O. club and after the war ended, married him on September, 27, 1947. She came to Charlevoix (after visiting in the summer!) to start their family. As soon as her feet hit the ground she joined Temple B'nai Israel and their Sisterhood; Charlevoix Chapter 72 Order of the Eastern Star, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and later the American Legion Auxiliary. Even while working and raising a family, she went on to volunteer for the Charlevoix Hospital, Charlevoix Historical Society, Charlevoix Public Library, and the Rainbow Shop. She dedicated herself to helping her many friends establish a Senior Citizens Center where she remained a volunteer until her health failed. Rosalyn's hobbies included writing poetry (two books published), creating newsletters for organizations, reading, knitting and crocheting, potlucks and fundraising. Her passion in life was helping others in any way she could and was selfless in serving. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorthea Rosen, and husband, Clarence Goldstick. Surviving are sons, David Goldstick, Jon Goldstick; and daughter, Trudi Rightsell; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Ferguson, Edward Goldstick and Kendra Rightsell; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jonathan, Jacob, Rosalyn, and Brinley. Visitation is scheduled at Winchester Funeral Home, Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Winchester Funeral Home, Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial services at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey. A private family dinner will follow. Memorial Donations may be made to: Temple B'nai Israel, P.O. Box 2416, Petoskey, MI, 49770.
