Ronald N. Sugnet, 82, of Alden, MI, formerly of Carriere, MS, passed away on June 29, 2016 at his son's home in Alden, MI. Ronald was born on August 9, 1933, in Buffalo, NY, the son of Ronald and Bernice (Newman) Sugnet. After retirement, he moved to Carriere, MS, where he spent 15 years. Following that he moved back to Michigan to be closer to his family. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 and enjoyed sailing, collecting tools, canes and antiques. Surviving are a son Lee (Sue) Malone of Alden, MI, daughter Beth (George) Wietor of Grand Rapids, MI, grandchildren, John (Anna) Wietor of Grand Rapids, MI, Chanel (Craig) Beghtel of Holland, MI, Jeff (Dayna) Dean of Mancelona, MI, great-grandchildren, Samantha Dean of Kalkaska, MI, Cody Shelton of Mancelona, Maci (Cali) Beghtel of Holland, MI, a great-great grandchild Payton Barnes, and cousins, Bill Sugnet and June (Gil) Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Sarah Sugnet, second wife Deana Sugnet, and a brother Durand Sugnet. No services are planned at this time. Burial will take place in Mississippi at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Byrds Chapel Methodist Church in Carriere, MS.
