Ronald K. McLaughlin, 80, of Eastport, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 19, 1928, in Pontiac, the son of Clarence and Rose (Hunt) McLaughlin. On January 23, 1954, in Pontiac, he married Gloria Daniels. Ron was employed as a supervisor at Ford Motor in Northville for 30 years. Upon retirement he moved with his wife to their home in Eastport. Ron was part of the Torch Bay Ambulance for several years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. He is survived by 4 children; Patricia (Terry) Cranston of Grayling, Kevin (Dawn) McLaughlin of White Lake, Brian (Marcia) McLaughlin of Waterford, Jill McLaughlin of Eastport, 6 grandchildren; Lisa (Patrick) McKay, Tricia (Bryce) Baker, Krista (Daniel) Polaniec, Ron (Heather) McLaughlin, Chris (Cheryl) McLaughlin, Shanyn (Andrew) Nelson, 8 A½ great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2002 after 48 years of marriage, his parents and a brother Clarence R. McLaughlin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2008 at One p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Ken Ernst officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, January 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake. Memorial donations may be directed to Munson Hospice. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel, Mortensen Funeral Homes.
