Ronald DeForest

Ronald "Bud" DeForest, 82, of Central Lake, passed away on September 3, 2015 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Bud was born on August 16, 1933, in Central Lake, the son of John and Goldie (Huffman) DeForest. Bud was a lifelong resident of Antrim County. He loved tinkering with motors of any kind as well as playing the guitar, singing country music and playing horseshoes. On September 20, 1952, in Grand Rapids, he married Ruth Marshall who survives. Also surviving are 8 children, Sylvia DeForest of Central Lake, Jack DeForest of Bellaire, Kenneth (Gladys) DeForest of Bellaire, Robert (Diane) DeForest of Marshall, MI, Ronald (Leanna) DeForest of Marshall, MI, Ruthann DeForest of Mancelona, Susan (Joseph) Variot of Mancelona, James DeForest of Central Lake, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Harold DeForest of Grand Rapids, Richard DeForest of CA, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
