Ronald G. Brooks

Ronald G. Brooks, 75 of Lakeland, FL (formerly of Central Lake and East Jordan, MI passed away in his home with both of his children by his side on May 1, 2023.  He was born June 21, 1947 in Sheridan, MI.  He was the son of Asa L. & Francis (Sower) Brooks.

Ronald turned 18 in bootcamp, while serving in the Army.  After an honorable discharge from the Army in 1967, he enlisted in the Navy in the early 1970's.  After 20+ years in the Navy, he retired as a Senior Chief.  Ronald is survived by his children Amy (Jeff) Joyce of Bellaire, MI and Daniel (Christine) Brooks of Tavares, FL.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Tricia (Chris) Joyce-Douglas, Nathan (Alyssa) Brooks and Jeff Joyce II and great granddaughter Hayleigh Rose Brooks, his brother Edgar Brooks and many nieces and nephews.  

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Asa (June) Brooks, Millen Brooks, Eugene Brooks and sisters Ellen Lundy, Beatrice Sly and Emma Carpenter.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Saturday, August 5, at 1 p.m. at Southern Cemetery with Rev. C. Powers Payton officiating.
