Ronald Dale Boss, 72, of Ellsworth, passed away on July 14, 2024, at home. He was born on July 22, 1951, in Charlevoix, the son of Bernie and June (Ayers) Boss.
The best words to describe Ron were selfless, kind, loving, and funny. He was a family man who always enjoyed spending time with his siblings, children, and grandchildren. Ron graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, and would go on to work for Northwest Community Health for 38 years. He liked to watch the Detroit Redwings, Michigan State Spartans, and had a love/hate relationship with the Detroit Lions. In Ron’s free time, he loved to be outdoors; in specific, hunting and fishing were at the top of his list.
Surviving Ron in death is his loving wife, Shirley, two children, Megan (Mike) Strange of Ellsworth, Annie Boss of East Jordan, one sister, Brenda (Chris) Jones of Charlevoix, one brother, Chet (Diane) Boss of Macomb, eight grandchildren, Halah Boss, Sophia Boss, Olivia Strange, Avery Strange, Benjamin Strange, Lily Strange, Ava Bartlett, Sparrow McCary.
Preceding Ron in death are his parents, one sister, Karen, one granddaughter, Genesis Boss.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 25, at noon, at the Belltower Reformed Church. Visitation will be held from 11am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ron’s honor can be made to the Belltower Reformed Church and Hospice of Michigan.
Arrangements are in the care of the Ellsworth Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
