Romayne Lila Chouinard Wilkerson, 81 of Houghton Lake, passed away peacefully, June 9, 2015, as she slept with her family by her side. Romayne was born July 22, 1933 to Emil and Christina Wolfgram in Staples, Minnesota. She was the eldest of 5 siblings and a loving grandmother to 33 grandchildren who in turn have blessed her with 75 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She loved our Lord and Savior first and foremost in her life and you would always catch her whistling those good old fashion hymns. She also loved our state and would go on day trips to check out some of our serene attractions, such as the sand dunes or a day at our many beaches and streams. Romayne loved cooking and you could find her on Sundays cooking up a feast for a crowd; or as she would say "Enough to feed an army!" She loved the new technology of the current century and her last precious years with us she loved to surf the web! Romayne was an avid pet lover and always had a cat to cuddle with and keep her company. Surviving her are 10 of her 12 children; Yvonne Famiano, Diana (Bill) McClannon, Joanne (Jack) Wood, Gloria Winowiecki, Mary Wagner, Carla Eichenroth, David (Dan May) Chouinard, Laura Sweet, Daniel Henry, Carl Grant, and brother Lyle Wolfgram. Romayne was preceded in death by her husband Tom Wilkerson, 2 daughters Lila Marie Lautner and Lisa Lee Chouinard, three siblings Dr. LaVern Wolfgram, Emil Wolfgram, and Marie Chouinard and three grandsons, Tracy Lautner, Micheal Lautner, and Mark Richard Sweet. Funeral services to celebrate Romayne's life will be Monday, June 15, 2015 at 4 p.m. with visitation starting at 3 pm, at the Houghton Lake Baptist Church, 9480 W Lake City Road, Houghton Lake, MI 49629. Any donations considered should be directed to the local A.S.P.C. Arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
