Roger A. Frederick, 66, of Mancelona passed away on May 3rd, 2017 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI. He was born on September 16th, 1950 to Alice Arlene (Sparks) Frederick and Clarence (Fred) Herman Frederick at Petoskey Hospital.
He is survived by his sister Kathy Huffman of Leroy, stepbrother, Victor (Peggy) Freed of Reed City, stepmother Betty Frederick of Reed City and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by both his parents and his brothers, Paul (Sally), Eddie (Gloria) and Terry (Denise).
Roger graduated from Boyne City High School in 1970 then joined the United States Nay from July 27, 1970 to July 26, 1974 where he was a mechanist.
He worked in the Mancelona area and Bellaire for many years. He was a truck driver and animal control officer. Roger was also the neighborhood handy man - everyone loved him and his work. He gave all of his time and heart.
He loved to hunt and fish and go mushrooming. Roger was known for his art work. Roger was an organ donor. His eyes went to the Gift of Sight. Roger was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He touched a lot of lives with his tremendous loving soul. An ANGEL - God speed Roger on your journey HOME.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held Saturday, May 20, at 2 pm,at Custer Township Hall, 3950 Alden Highway, Mancelona. Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign his online guestbook at www.mortensenfuneralhomes.com.
