Roberta “Bobbie” Lee Albright, 78, passed away on June 2, 2018 at Hiland Hospice Cottage in Petoskey, MI.
She was born on October 9, 1939 in Charlevoix to Hugh W. and Catherine L. (Smith) Mayne.
Bobbie grew up in Charlevoix and graduated from Charlevoix High School in 1957. After high school she attended Davenport Institute in Grand Rapids, MI.
On June 21, 1958 she married Robert “Bob” Albright in Charlevoix. Following their marriage, they spent the next 21 years as a Navy family living near U.S. Navy facilities in Groton, CT, Portsmouth, NH, Philadelphia, PA, San Diego, CA, Monterey, CA, Key West, FL and Athens Greece. After Bob retired from the Navy they settled in San Diego, CA where Bobbie worked as a commercial property manager for 18 years. In 1993 they moved to Tucson, AZ where they resided until 2007 when they moved back home to Charlevoix. Bobbie enjoyed bowling, quilting, reading, Mah Jongg, genealogy (she was a descendant of two Mayflower passengers), and sipping a glass of wine on the front porch on a summer afternoon.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Catherine Mayne, her sister, Lynette Mayne Holtz, and grandson Reed Kelly Albright.
She is survived by her husband Bob, daughter, Shelly M. Albright of Singapore, son, Richard J. (Julie) Albright of San Marcos, CA and grandson Austin Albright of Vista, CA, brother-in-law, Russell (Sherrie Klein) Holtz of Centerville, OH, niece, Laura (Mark) Ryan and children of Centerville, OH, and nephew, Andrew (Alexis Wolff) Holtz and children of Arlington, VA, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerome (Jean) Albright and their three children and grandchildren, Charles (Margie) Hanshaw and their two children and grandchildren, and special cousin Mark (Heather) Sape and their daughters of Charlevoix.
At Bobbie’s request there will be no viewing and a private interment will follow at a later date.
