Robert 'Bob' Welch

Robert (Bob) James Welch, 81, of Central Lake, passed away on February 1, 2025, at McLaren of Northern Michigan in Petoskey, MI. He was born on September 19, 1943, in Central Lake. He was the son of William and Treva (Peterson) Welch.

Bob in his earlier years worked for Bellaire Log Cabin in Bellaire. He retired from Harbour Industries after 45 years of employment.

Bob is survived by the love of his life Patty Loper, of Charlevoix, sister Janet (Jesse) Glick of Kewadin, brother David (Melva) Welch of Central Lake, several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Faye, sisters, Agnes (James) Englehard, Evelyn (Elmer) Hunter, Gloria (David) Halladay.

Bob had many hobbies which included woodworking, car restoration, scuba diving, metal detecting, gardening, propagating flowers and grafting trees.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 15, at noon, at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place from 11am until the start of the service. A eulogy will be followed by Randy Weiss.

Burial will take place in the spring at Southern Cemetery in Central Lake.
