Robert Arthur Shumaker

Robert Arthur Shumaker, 84, of Bellaire, passed away August 6, 2023 at Meadowbrook in Bellaire.  He was born April 21, 1939 in Kearney Twp., MI the son of Arthur and Auda (Handy) Shumaker. 

Bob was a lifelong resident of Bellaire.  He held many positions on the Bellaire village council, including President, and was also the Mayor of Bellaire.  Bob worked at Lamina Bronze retiring after 38 years. 

He is survived by two sons Todd (Cinda) Shumaker of Boyne City and Kyle (Jacqueline) Shumaker of Bellaire; five grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kolbi, Emma, Tyler, and Shaelyn; a brother Chuck (Gayle) Shumaker of Bellaire, three sisters, Marilyn May, Bev (Bill) McLellan and Shirley Sawyer. 

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, parents, and sisters Doris Goodrich and Maxine Harlan. 

A private burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire. 

Memorial contributions may be made to a local charity or project of the donor’s choice.
