Robert E. Paul
Robert E. Paul, "Plumber Bob", 68, of Banks Township died Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Huntington, Indiana on January 19, 1945 to Herman Jr. and Jenna Mae (Swing) Paul.
Bob worked in plumbing and heating in Indiana and in Michigan where he worked with Chuck Clark.
He enjoyed having coffee at Ellsworth Market, meeting people as he was working, and driving around in his rusty Chevy pick-up.
Bob had a heart of gold and had many friends in the area - Joe Hull, Jim Maine and Chuck Clark, to name a few. As his health declined he was "adopted" by Ed Boh, Theresa Hughey and family. He enjoyed Ed's dogs and helped care for them at the shop. When he joined Ed's family at Christmas he was delighted to receive a stocking filled with sugar-free goodies.
While in Munson Medical Center recently he enjoyed the ministry of harpists who also prayed with him. Because of his adopted family and friends he came to know that "where there is love and caring, there God is."
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, January 25 at the VFW Hall in Central Lake with a benefit dinner to follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ed Boh, P.O. Box 563, Central Lake, MI 49622 or Hastings Funeral Home, P.O. Box 72, Ellsworth, MI 49729 - online at www.hastingsfuneral.com.
