Robert David "Vito" Ladd

Robert David “Vito” Ladd, 35, of Charlevoix, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2024. He was born on August 2, 1988, in Petoskey, the son of David Ladd and Jane Thelen.

Bobby was a larger-than-life man with a larger-than-life heart of gold. He loved everyone he met and was the first to show up if someone needed help. There was nothing more important to him than his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed riding his Harley, sitting around a bonfire with a cold beer, and playing videogames with his nephews. He taught himself how to play guitar and was a very good singer – depending on who you asked. Bobby’s passing will leave a massive hole in the lives of his family, friends, and all those who knew him.

Bobby is survived by his parents, Jane Thelen and David Ladd; his brothers, Ryan (Andrea) Thelen of Charlevoix, Nicholas Thelen of Jackson, and Jimmy & Bill Shively; his step-sisters, Hailey Ladd and Heather Ladd; his paternal grandfather, Robert Ladd; many aunts and uncles; his special nephews Logyn and Tristin, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ann Thelen; and his paternal grandmother, Judy Ladd.

A celebration of Bobby’s life will begin at noon on Saturday, August 3, at his brother Ryan’s house, 9170 Shrigley Rd., Charlevoix, MI 49720.
