Richard Shiels

Richard J. Shiels, 48, of Mancelona, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Rich was born on September 23, 1962 in Gaylord, MI., the son of Richard and Delores Shiels. Rich and his family farmed together for many years. He worked in the construction field as a contractor throughout Northern Michigan. "This sickness has no boundaries, no oceans it won't cross. An illness that's invisible submerged in utter chaos." Rich is survived by his loving wife, Tracey (Snook) Shiels; two sons, Blake and Clayton Shiels of Gaylord; parents, Richard (Sandy) Shiels of Lake City, MI., Delores of Traverse City, MI; brother, Steven (Carrie) Shiels of Grand Blanc; and two sisters, Karen and Karla Shiels of Traverse City. The Celebration of Life Service will be private. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona in the spring.
