Richard Lee Selissen Sr, 85, of East Jordan, passed away on March 25, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1938, in Green Bay, WI, the son of Herbert and Catherine (Broullard) Selissen.
On May 16, 1959, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlevoix, Dick and Mary “Noreen” Cross joined hands in marriage. They would go on to be married for 64 years and have two children together. Over the years, the two of them would own two legendary Northern Michigan establishments, the Flight Deck in Charlevoix, and The Nordic in Boyne City. Dick was a proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, in which he served for 22 years. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, golfing, and spending time with his family. Dick was quick witted and enjoyed life to its fullest, bringing a smile to everyone’s face.
He is survived by his loving wife, Noreen, son, Richard “Rick” Selissen Jr of Boyne City, daughter, Sharon “Sherrie” (Arin) Selissen-Kallman of Charlevoix, brother, Edmond (Edith) Selissen of Green Bay, WI, Elaine Macdonald of Fish Creek, WI, four grandchildren, Troy Selissen, Jessica Selissen, Jennifer Thompkins, Tristen Selissen, two great-grandchildren, Jesse Thompkins, Addison Thompkins.
Preceding Dick in death are his parents, sister, Jeanette Degroot.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer. In lieu of flowers please donate to a local animal humane society.
