Richard Knowles, jr. 12/05/1955 - 9/26/2018

Richard J. Knowles, Jr, 62, of Mancelona, passed away on September 26, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.

Rich was predeceased by his parents, Richard Sr. and Eleanor Knowles; his son-in-law, Jerry Bean; his sister-in-law, Robin Knowles; and his niece, Angel Knowles.

Rich is survived by his current wife Penny Knowles; his previous wife, Mary Ann Knowles; his siblings- John "Tony" Knowles, Thomas Knowles, and Mary Fulton; his children- Nancy Newell and her husband Nicholas, Tammy Knowles, Anna Bean, Richard Knowles III and his wife Heather, Meranda Watson and spouse, Lewis Crandall; 15 grandchildren- April, Riley, Devin, Damion, Richard IV "RJ", Gerold "Gerry", Cheyanne, Markus, Samantha, Sara, Teina, Nicholas, Haley-Marie, Alyssa, Leigh Ann; a great grandchild: Donovan; and many nieces and nephews.

Rich was the life of the party; which we all can agree is why he "occasionally" was in trouble. However, let it be known that he did outlive all 3 prosecuting attorneys.

Rich is someone that you would never forget. He was a hard working man who would give you the shirt off of his back. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather "papa", uncle, and friend. He was everyone's "go-to" mechanic, problem solver, and occasional alibi. His best description is "When my father didn't have my hand, he had my back".

Time shall pass, but not one day will go by that he is not here in our hearts. The day he went to heaven was not just a date on the calendar, but a day when our very existence changed forever.

There will be a viewing for family and friends on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  There will be no formal services.
