Richard J. Coucke, 81 of Bellaire, died April 4, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.

He was born May 20, 1936 in Detroit, the son of George and Agatha (Opiela) Coucke.

“Cookie” was a wood pattern maker at Chevy Engineering and he retired after 35 dedicated years of service. He was a member of the UAW and Pattern Makers of the USA.  Upon retirement he moved north to Bellaire and became an active and faithful member of St. Luke Catholic Church.  He enjoyed wood working and was a friend to all.

On February 8, 1964 he married Peggy Terry who preceded him in death in 2013.  He was also preceded in death by his brother Harvey.

Surviving are his children Ronald (Nancy) Coucke of Farmington, Aimee (Vasilios) Minitsios of Roseville, Todd (Barb Darling) Coucke of Bellaire, and Kyle (Lisa) Coucke of New Haven, grandchildren Michiel, Joshua, Ryan, Kyle Jr., Hailey, and Angellee Coucke, step grandchildren Brittany Coucke and Bradley Harvey, great grandchildren Shawn and Alex, sisters Joyce Pastorek and Margaret Coucke, nieces Michelle Blundell, Sharon Gemellaro, and nephew Keith Pastorek.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 10th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.  Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
