Rhonnia Egger

Beloved wife, mother, meme, sister and friend, Rhonnia Tania Egger, 69, of Torch Lake,passed away Monday, May 25, 2015, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. She was born August 21, 1945, in Wevelgem, Belgium to Andre and Wilma (Wallays) Bisschop. In 1948, the family moved to Winnepeg, Manitoba before coming to the United States and settling in Fraser in 1953. Rhonnia was a graduate of Fraser Public Schools in 1963. She married the love of her life, Werner Egger on May 31, 1969. They moved to northern Michigan in 1973 and lived on Old Dixie Highway in Atwood for more than 35 years. She was a dedicated volunteer and selflessly donated hundreds of hours of time to the Ellsworth Community Schools. She served on the Board of Education, coached cheerleading, chaired fundraisers, chaperoned events, and was a presence in many a classroom. Once her daughters were off to college, Rhonnia found pleasure in spending her days as manager of the Rocking Horse Toy Company in Charlevoix. Rhonnia, was a meticulous housekeeper who also enjoyed reading, cooking, working crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her family and at a moment's notice would show you pictures of her beloved grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Werner of Torch Lake; daughters, Tania A. Egger (Ronald) Harris, and Nicole M. Egger (Jon) Supernaw all of Traverse City; grandchildren, Philipp and Claudia Harris; brother, Ronny (Carol) Bisschop of Barrington, Ill. ; brother-in-law Reinhard (Shelley) Egger of McKinney, Texas; mother-in-law Maria Egger and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Philipp Egger. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Friday May 29 at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. A memorial service will follow at 7 pm. Cremation will take place following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Munson Hospice House, 1105 Sixth Street, Traverse City, Mich. 49684.
