Renate Doris Hessler

Renate Doris Hessler, 85, of Eastport passed away Monday, August 22, 2022 in Petoskey.

Renate was born to Bernhard and Clotilde (Saladin) Rastatter on May 19, 1937, in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Renate loved to be outdoors. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. When she was not outside, you could find her spending time with her family. Renate had a passion for cooking and had many authentic German dish’s she would make for others.

Renate is preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband Reinhold.

Surviving Renate in death is her daughter, Jeannette (Charlie) Moffat of Central Lake, granddaughter, Nicole (Sam) Snowden of East Jordan, great-grand daughter, Leslie Wilson of East Jordan, sister in law Rosa Mann, nieces and a nephew.  

A private family graveside service will take place at Lakeview Eastport Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
