Raymond S. Welsh, 81, of Alba passed away January 14, 2014 at McLaren Northern Michigan. He was born August 4, 1932 in Central Lake, Michigan, the son of Raymond and Hazel (Dilley) Welsh. Ray enjoyed playing the guitar, fiddle and loved music. His life consisted of his ministry. He was a pastor at churches in Auburn and Garrett Indiana for many years. He preached revivals all over Michigan and loved ministering to others. On December 14, 2013 he married Eva who survives. Also surviving are two children, Roger (Mary) Welsh of Gaylord and Donna (Royal) Edwards of Livonia; two grandchildren, Sarah and Jeremiah; siblings, Lucille (Don) Bundy, Frances (Abe) Collins and Ruth (Richard) Landers; six step-daughters; four step-sons; many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Carper five years ago; brother, Joe Welsh. Memorial services will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Hope Church in Gaylord. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family through Mortensen Funeral Homes, PO Box 307, Mancelona MI 49659.
