Raymond Smith

Raymond E. Smith, 67, of Mancelona died Monday, June 1, 2009 at Munson Medical Center. He was born April 20, 1942, in Ypsilanti, the son of Emery and Pearl (Livermore) Smith. Raymond proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 yrs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. On September 17, 1977, in Bellaire he married Fern L. Coon who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters Debbie Schram, Vickie (Bob) Kleeman, Donna (Rich) Rousseau, all of Mancelona, 2 sons Master Sgt. Ed (Tanja) Smith of Vandenberg, CA, and Rick Aldrich of Mancelona, siblings Dick (Carolyn) Smith of Mancelona, Rollen (Wanda) Smith of Grass Lake, Shirley Conrad of Adrian, Donna Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Beverly (Bill) Gibson of Marion, and Carol Muma of Mancelona, grandchildren; Tanya (Tim) Krueger of Mancelona, Shasta (Juan) Herrera of Mancelona, Darcy (Jamie) Novak of Pensacola, FL, Becky (Mike) Jenson of Mancelona, Bobby Kleeman of Mancelona, Krista Smith & Kellan Smith both of Vandenberg, CA, and Randy Aldrich of Mancelona, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Randy Aldrich, brother Larry Smith, sisters Evelyn Hoot and Darlene Oslund. Funeral services were held Friday, June 5, at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Rev. Sam McClellan officiated. Interment followed in Star Township Cemetery, Alba.
