Ray Harrington

Ray Harrington, 89, of Bellaire, passed away, May 6, 2016 at Meadowbrook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. Ray was born July 26, 1926 in Bellaire, Michigan. Ray married Dorothy and together they had 7 children. After Ray retired from GM they decided to move to Bellaire full time. Ray resided in Bellaire the majority of his life. He coached woman's league softball, was an avid bowler, and loved weekly bingo, going to the casino, playing cards, and taking his grandkids to the Alden Stroll. Ray is survived by 4 children, Sherry (Rich) Young of TC, Steven Harrington of Alden, Christina (Wayne) Farmer of Mancelona, and Terry Harrington of Bellaire, 10 grandchildren Sean, Tobin, Jason, Lisa, Sarah, Terrance, Stephanie, Joshua, Bryon, DJ, 19 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and 6 sisters. Ray was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, daughter Michelle, sons David and Daniel, 1 brother, and 4 sisters. A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, May 28; 1p-6p at the Helena Township Community Center. A burial will take place on Tuesday, May 31 at Chapman cemetery. Arrangements have been handled by the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
