Pola Kaluzny went to be with the Lord, July 14, 2020.
She was born in Poland in 1923. Having survived the Nazi concentration camps in Germany. Pola was very proud to come to this county and become an American citizen, along with her husband Joseph and son Henry.
She was a fantastic cook and kept beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved to go fishing; she even had the experience at 75 years old to drive a sled dog team.
Surviving are her daughter Rhonda (Mike) Walker. Grandson’s Jason Kaluzny and Tim Walker, granddaughter Kristi (Matt) Kelly, also great-grandchildren Lyla and Taylor Kelly and Sarah and Jonah Walker.
Pola was preceded in death by her husband Joseph and son Henry.
As per Pola’s wishes, cremation has taken place with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
With Pola having known true hunger; she always wanted to make sure everyone had something to eat. If you wish to do so in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local food pantry or animal shelter in Pola’s memory.
Many heartfelt thank-you’s to the staff at Meadow Brook, who so lovingly took care of Pola for the past 6 years. Also, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Bellaire, and all the people who helped her practice her faith until the end of her life.
Also, to the great staff of Heartland Hospice who helped us all through this difficult time.
