Phyllis Truchan, 81, of Elmira, passed away on July 30, 2017 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord.
Phyllis was born on August 31, 1935, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of Constance and Mary (Kenzora) Vendlinski.
Phyllis was employed at Ford Motor in Detroit as well as Alcoa Aluminum in Cleveland, OH.
She was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. She was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed going on retreats. She also liked reading and puzzles.
She was the bride of Frank Truchan for 61 years, Frank survives and resides in Elmira. Also surviving are 4 children, Nina (Glen) Hineman of Westland, MI, Frank III (Shari) Truchan of Westland, MI, Bruce (Carol) Truchan of Livonia, Mark (Deborah) Truchan of Marietta, GA, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a brother William (Paula) Vendlinski of Naples, FL, and a sister, Leonette Goforth of Mentor, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Vicky Palmer and 5 brothers, Bernard, Stanley, Theodore, Walter and Anthony.
A funeral mass will be held on Fri. Aug. 4, at 1 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona with Fr. Chet Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Star Township Cemetery, Alba. The family will receive friends Thurs. from 4-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with a rosary at 7:30pm.
