Phyllis DeKorne

Phyllis DeKorne, 77, of Banks Township, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Charlevoix Area Hospital.

She was born October 8, 1936 in Grand Rapids to Arthur and Gladys (Jamieson) Fryling.

On November 11, 1955 she married Jacob C. DeKorne in Grandville. They lived on the family farm near Grand Rapids, moving to their farm in Banks Township in 1977.

Phyllis enjoyed knitting, cooking and reading.

She was a member of Netherlands Reformed Church in Grand Rapids.

Surviving are her husband Jacob C. DeKorne; children Jacob C. (Kathie) DeKorne Jr. of Coopersville, Sue (Randy) Neuman of Hudsonville, Tim (Mary) DeKorne of Mesick, Mark (Mandy) DeKorne of Atwood, Dan (Julie) DeKorne of Kent City; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Kenneth Fryling of Jenison and Edward (Jan) Fryling of Apache Junction, Arizona.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Atwood Cemetery.
