Peter Lennington

PETER M. LENNINGTON, 61, of Mancelona, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2009 at Munson Medical Center. Peter was born on May 12, 1948 in Tecumseh the son of Andrew and Helen (McGowan) Lennington. Peter grew up in Mancelona, raised his family in Manitoba and returned 5 years ago to care for his father. Peter enjoyed woodworking, downhill skiing, working on projects around the farm and he loved the outdoors. On October 9, 1971 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada he married Mary Louise TenHoopen who survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Peter (Kori) Lennington of Oakbank, Manitoba, Canada, Tricia (Jason) Thompson of Sanford, Manitoba, Canada, Paul Lennington of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and Daniel Lennington of Chicago, IL. In addition to his children he is survived by 4 grandchildren, James, Olivia and Andrew Thompson, Kaydin Lennington, 3 brothers, Andrew (Joelle) Lennington of Ann Arbor, Ed Lennington of Mancelona, Mike (Kristin) Lennington of Howell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Daniel Lennington. Memorial services will take place on Tues. Nov. 24, at Two p.m. at the Church in the Hills. Pastor Andrew Pomerville will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are being handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
