Perry Mills

Perry V. Mills, 90, of Bellaire, died Sept. 25, 2011 at home. He was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Manvel, ND, the son of Francis J. Sr. and Mary M. (Peterson)Mills. Perry was a prominate business man. When asked what he did he'd reply "hard work". He owned 3 redimix plants; "Mills Concrete Products" in Bellaire, Mancelona, and Kalkaska. After selling those businesses he moved to Escondido, CA and opened a successful Real Estate Company; "Meadows Real Estate", that he ran for many years. Upon retirement he moved back to Bellaire and was a village council member for 16 years. On Oct. 7, 1950, in Monroe, Louisiana, he married the love of his life, Opal Curry, who survives. Also surviving are his sons Kris (Marge) Mills of Frankfort, Kurt (Tova) Mills of Phoenix, AZ, 3 grandchildren Heather, Daniel, Jennifer, and 2 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Francis "Joe"Jr., Dwight, Wayne, Sheldon and Gertrude. Memorial services will be held Fri. Sept. 30, 2011 at 11 am at the Bellaire Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Litchfield officiating. A luncheon will follow. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
