Penny Puckett

Penny (Nellie) P. Puckett, 57 of Bellaire, died at home, Wed. Dec. 2, 2015 due to natural causes. She was born Dec. 10, 1957 to Russel and Phyllis (Minich) Martin, growing up in Tawas, MI. On Dec. 11, 1982 in Mancelona, Penny married Steve F. Puckett. They moved to Bellaire in 1984, happily making their home and raising 5 children together. Penny enjoyed volunteering with the Girl Scouts when her daughters were young and also in the Bellaire school library. She loved to do crafts, puzzles, and play games too. Surviving is her husband Steve, her children Anique Marie Puckett of Traverse City, Tara Jane Puckett of Norfolk, VA, Shakira Lynn Puckett of Bellaire, Ukiah James Puckett of Norfolk, VA, Marisa Mae Puckett of Traverse City; grandson Damien Wayne Puckett and grandson Axl Royal Fleminger who is on the way. Also surviving are her siblings Russel Martin, Eric Martin, Eli Martin, Debbie Mackersie, Jean Jeup, Melissa Duvall, and Kelly O'Farrel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her niece Heather Martin. Funeral services will be held Mon. Dec. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
