Penny Habel

Penny Beth Habel, 54, of Petoskey, passed away at home on June 1, 2016. She was born December 13, 1961, to Rolland Laird and Wanda Jean (Syx) Smith. Penny graduated from Marcellus High School in 1980, and moved to Petoskey in 1981. She worked as a nurse's aid. Penny loved her grandchildren, going to yard sales, and gardening.

Penny is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Allen S. Habel; sons, Allen S. Habel, Jr., and Tyler Scott (Rachael) Habel all of Petoskey; grandchildren, Shane, Lilymarie, Mindy, Tyler Jr., and Hunter; brothers, John (Suzanne) Smith, Curtis (Debbie) Smith all of Marcellus; sisters, Sherry (Gene) Whisler of Constantine, Janice Fager of Marcellus. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Bob.

A memorial gathering will be from 1-4 pm, Sunday, June 12, at the Boyne City Eagles, 106 River Street, Boyne City, MI 49712.
