PENNIE THOMPSON

PENNIE J. THOMPSON, 63, of Bellaire, died on May 19, 2011 in Grand Rapids. Pennie was born on December 15, 1947 in Royal Oak, MI., the daughter of Gordon and Edrie (Glander) Hacker. Pennie was a resident of Bellaire for the past 33 years and worked for the Antrim County Prosecutors Office as a Victim Witness Coordinator for the past 18 years. She enjoyed painting, boating, gardening and spending time with her dog "Meg". On August 24, 1973, in Birmingham, MI., she married Harbert "Butch" Thompson who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Brian Sutherby of Chicago, IL., Christopher G. (Danielle) Thompson of Bellaire, Tammy (Bob Jr.) Pecar of Bellaire, her father Gordon Hacker of Central Lake, a brother Tim (Carlena) Hacker of Climax, MI., 4 grandchildren, Carli, Kristin, Johnathan and Owen. She was preceded in death by a son Michael Sutherby and her mother Edrie Hacker. Services will take place on Wednesday, May 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Andrew Pomerville will officiate. Visitation will be on Tues. from 4-7 p.m. also at the funeral home. A private burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
