Pauline E. Russell, 94, of Charlevoix, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Boulder Park Terrace Nursing Home in Charlevoix. She was born February 23, 1922, in Petoskey, to James F. and Myrtle M. (Bennett) Zitka. Pauline grew up in East Jordan, attending County School in Eveline Township, and graduating from East Jordan High School in 1939. On September 11, 1939, she married Albert L. “Buster” Russell in Ellsworth and they made their home in Charlevoix. Pauline worked in housekeeping at Belvedere Club homes and in private residences in Charlevoix. In 1965, she went to work for Hoskins Wire Manufacturing retiring in 1985. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix, its Pilgrim Circle and Women's Fellowship, VFW Post 1153 Ladie's Auxiliary, and the quilting club. Albert preceded Pauline in death on August 15, 1993. She is survived by her daughters, Judy A. Russell of Charlevoix, and Sharon L. Snyder of Charlevoix; grandchildren, Alva L. Noirot, Gilbert L. (Kathy) Noirot, Tami L. Tom) Rost, Teresa M. Noirot, Bridget S. Dohm, Timothy L. Noirot, Bryan
(Barb) Noirot, Melinda J. (Joe) Poon, Michael (Kelli Acha) Zednick, Jeffrey F. (Dee) Zednick, Kit Carson, III, Kelly Carson, John Phoenix Rann, Thomas D. (Lisa) Burzyck; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sister, Jean (John) Hyde of Reed City; brother, Robert E. (Sally) Zitka of Grandville; sister-in-law, Corrine Russell; son-in-law, Alva “Sonny” Noirot; niece, Marilyn (Ed) Bradley. Pauline was preceded in death by her daughters, Eveleyn Noirot and Wanda Rann; brothers, James and Richard Zitka; and sister, Winifred Parks. Visitation will begin at 12 noon at the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix, followed by the funeral at 1 pm, Monday, March 21, 2016. The Reverend Neil Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church in Charlevoix, or to VFW Post 1153, Charlevoix.
