Paula Kay Douglas, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on May 15, 2024 in Central Lake, Michigan at the age of 63.
Born on November 1, 1960, in Trenton, Michigan to Paul and Gladys (Reichenbach) Batten, Paula led a life filled with love and laughter. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and was well known for her years of bartending at The Club.
Paula's warmth and humor endeared her to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She had a great sense of humor and a kind and loving nature that made everyone feel welcomed and appreciated in her presence. Her hobbies included going to yard sales, collecting, crafting, hosting family gatherings, spending time at the beach, baking, and preserving memories through scrapbooking.
One of Paula's proudest accomplishments was being a devoted sports mom and grandma. She took immense joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in their endeavors and celebrating their successes with unwavering love and pride.
Paula will be deeply missed by her loving husband Lee Douglas; her children David (Darlene Kendall) Crossman II and Travis (Shonda Scott) Batton; the father of her son David, Dave Crossman, her brother Gary (Janine) Gerfers; her sisters Cheryl (Jerry) Rebec and Shelly (David) Courser; her grandchildren Devin, Colton, Lindsey, Brienna, Zackery, Austin, Shyanne, Kyha, Cierra, Leora, Marley, Cayden; her nieces Janine, Heather, Jody, Nicole, Andrea; nephews Scott, Allen, Ryan; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; friends; and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness.
Services to honor Paula's life will be held at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. A viewing will take place on May 22, 2024 starting at 3:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM.
Paula Kay Douglas leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved by many and will never be forgotten.
