Paula "Patsy" Patricia Burnett, 85 of Central Lake, died November 24, 2020 at Medilodge of Grand Traverse County. She was born August 12, 1935 in Central Lake the daughter of Paul and "Billie" (Wilda Moore) Burnett and graduated from Central Lake High School in 1955.
Paula lived several years in Gaylord and Kalkaska but always referred to Central Lake as home. Family always came first for Paula, but her church family was a close 2nd. She was a switchboard operator for Otsego County for many years and owned the Booknook in Central Lake in the late 70’s and early 80’s. She was a member of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church and the First Congregational Church of Central Lake. Paula “Patsy” as many knew her in the area enjoyed volunteering her time at church and helping people. She was extremely creative and imaginative and enjoyed painting. In her younger years she loved boat racing, driving fast and listening to all types of music. The word no was not something she used often.
Surviving are her daughter Patti R. Bravard of Central Lake, granddaughter Laura Kalbfleisch, great granddaughter Shaina Kalbfleisch both of Traverse City and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Kenneth Paul Burnett in 2011, and her son in law Michel Bravard in 2013.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Bekkering. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Congregational Church Food Pantry, PO BOX 326, Central Lake, MI 49622, a local Animal Shelter of your Choice, or to a Dementia Research Group.
