Paul S. Wilson, 73 of Central Lake, died Tuesday, January 8, 2007, surrounded by his loving family at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital in Petoskey. He was born February 3, 1934 in Echo Township, the son of Earl and Eva May (Taylor) Wilson. Paul spent most of his life in Echo Township. He enjoyed hunting and farming. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. On June 12, 1955 in Fort Riley, Kansas, he married Catherine Ann Schumaker, who survives. Also surviving are five children; Kathleen (Jay) Marhofer of Stockbridge, Eileen (Dennis ) Denhard of Brighton, Doug (Janette) Wilson of East Jordan, Charlene (Don) Merritt of Mt. Pleasant, Marlene (Ken Ingraham) McKay of Lake; two sisters; Neva Bradley of Elk Rapids, Bertha (Jack) Petrie of Florida; 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 12th , at Joseph's Catholic Church, at Eleven a.m., in East Jordan with Fr. James Gardiner presiding. The family will receive friends Friday, January 11, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with a rosary being said at 7:30 p.m. A private family burial will take place in Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Twp.
