Paul Emery

PAUL W. EMERY, 80, of Bellaire, passed away on December 24, 2012 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. He was born July 13, 1932, in Ann Arbor, the son of Stephen and Lelia (Smith) Emery. Paul was a resident of the Bellaire area for many years and had grown up on the Farm on Clam Lake as a child. Paul held a journeyman license as a Tool and Die Maker and was the Plant manager for Crown Products in Indianapolis for 30 years. He also was an ordained minister and taught High School History classes and served as Trustee at a college in Indiana. Paul is survived by his wife of many years, Betty (Gardner) Emery of Bellaire, 5 children, Jeff Emery of Alden, David (Phyllis) Emery of Seymour, TN., Steve (Jeanine) Emery of Evart, MI., Joy (Robert) Hartman of OH., Amber (Steve) George of Evart, MI., a brother Steve (Carol) Emery of South Bend, IN., 3 sisters, Lelia Dawalt of IN., Lois Sowers of Rapid City, MI., Dorothy Frye of OH., 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings, Sibyl, Dawn, Juanita, Rosiland, Doris and Marion. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bellaire Wesleyan Church with Rev. Kim Hough officiating. Interment will be in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Custer Township. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
