Patricia J. Miessner

Patricia J. Miessner, 91, of Mancelona, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 11, 2023.

   Pat was born on September 27, 1931, in Colby, WI, the daughter of Henry and Herta (Stock) Reeves.

   She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church for 63 years and served as organist for over 50 years.   She had a love of music and a strong faith that never wavered.

   During her working years she was particularly proud of her time working as office manager for Chip Counseling Center.

   Pat and Elmer enjoyed many years wintering in Port Aransas, TX.   They were actively involved with the youth group and known simply as "Grandma and Grandpa".

   Family was extremely important to Pat.   She was proud of her children's achievements.   She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

   Pat was a friend to anyone she met.   With a smile and a twinkle in her eye, her spunky nature was sure to garner a good time.

   Surviving are 3 children, Linda Gilmore of Gaylord, Daniel (Deborah) Miessner of Bluffton, SC, Sandy Miessner of Grand Rapids, 5 grandchildren, Matthew Miessner of Manistee, MI, Alice Monte of Bluffton, SC, Amanda Benjamin of Bethlehem, PA, Kristen (Corey) Rock of Grayling, Jason Gilmore of Holly, MI, a step-granddaughter Betsy (John) Neff of Bear Lake, MI, and 7 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Tyler, Landon, Camden, Jesse, Sylvia and Johnny.

   She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Miessner in 2013 as well as her parents.

   Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

   Funeral services will be Thursday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mancelona with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at church.

   Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
