Patricia M. Hyde, 62 of Traverse City, died peacefully, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Munson Hospice House. She was born March 17, 1953, in Bayonne, New Jersey, the daughter of Benjamin and Genevieve (Babecki) Oskierko. Pat was a devout member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, and previously of St. Francis in Traverse City. She was very proud of her Polish heritage and of seeing the Black Madonna while traveling to Czestochowa, Poland. She was also privileged to go to Rome and Israel and had a deep love of Michigan and its beauty. Pat was a wonderful cook who loved to entertain friends, of whom she had many! She was a devout wife and deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She retired from Munson Medical Center, and went on to work for an amazing boss, Larry Treece, owner of Harbor Care. Pat was a genuine, loving person who dedicated her life to taking care of others. Surviving are her sons Adam (Laura) Hyde and Matthew Hyde, stepdaughter Edwinna Hyde all of Traverse City, stepson George Hyde Jr. of Marquette, and grandchildren Mattison and Juliette Hyde and Alyssa Thornburg all of Traverse City. She is also survived by her mother Genevieve and siblings Rita, Fabion, and Ben all of New Jersey, G.Theresa and Mary Ann of Arizona, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Oskierko A funeral mass will be held Friday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with her dear friend, Father James Gardiner officiating. Interment with Military Honors will take place at 3:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Traverse City. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. also at St. Luke Church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Luke Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
