Patricia J Fleet

Patricia J. Fleet (89), passed away peacefully under the loving care and comfort of family on March 17, 2023, at her home in Traverse City, Michigan.

She was born on April 15, 1933 in Alden to Clarence and Lena Anderson.  Patricia graduated from Mancelona High School in 1951.  She obtained her Teaching License from Central Michigan University and taught Pre-School and Head Start for several years (1958-68) before becoming a full-time homemaker.

Patricia married Wesley Lloyd Fleet on June 12, 1953 in Alden.  They were happily married for 64 years until Wesley's passing in 2018.

She enjoyed participating in outdoor activities with her family such as boating, camping, and golfing.  Patricia loved listening to music and was often seen clapping and moving to the beat of the music.  She and her late husband also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and North America.  They wintered for several years in Arizona and Texas.  Patricia was an avid flower gardener, and you could be assured that wherever she lived there was a beautiful display of flowers and plants. 

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence, and Lena Anderson; her husband Wesley Fleet; sisters Bonnie and Virginia; and brothers Dick and Thomas.  She is survived by her children Jeffrey, of Bemidji, MN; Gregory (Elisa) of Beulah; and Jenna (Steve) of Traverse City; her grandchildren Stephany (Dan) of Muskegon; Jason (Jessica) of DeWitt; and Hailie of Bemidji, MN; and her great-grandchildren Callan, Adalyn and Daxton.

Patricia will be remembered as a loving and caring mother who had a kind and gentle heart.  She liked nothing more than to share a laugh with those she loved.

A private graveside service will be held this spring in the Helena Township Cemetery in Alden, Michigan.
