Patricia Berends

Patricia J. Berends, 58, of Central Lake, passed away on August 1, 2014 at her home. Patti was born on January 14, 1956, in Traverse City, the daughter of James and Dorothy (DuBois) Harter. Patti enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, sewing and doing crafts. She was a Central Lake resident for the past several years moving from Pleasant Valley. She is survived by 8 children, Rebekah Fuller of Central Lake, Spencer Fuller of Charlevoix, Kenny Berends of Central Lake, Brian (Chris) Fuller of Mancelona, Rod (Tom Sheneman) Fuller of Bellaire, Tressa (Jim) Youmans of Central Lake, Paul Fuller of Central Lake, April Fuller of Ionia, a brother Jim (Jeana) Harter of Boyne City, Marjorie Spence of Central Lake, 3 step-siblings, Jim (Nona) Spence of Central Lake, Linda Hilts of Central Lake, Betty Spence of Central Lake, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken Berends Jr., son Herb Fuller Jr., 3 sisters, Nancy Bartholomew, Velda Gardner, Meg "Marian" Harter, step-brother Richard Spence, step-father Carl Spence as well as her parents. A visitation will take place on Friday, August 8 from 3-7 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Celebration of Life service will be on Sunday, August 10 from 12 noon-4 p.m. at Elm Pointe in East Jordan. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
