Pastor Donald A. Ritter, 82, of Boyne City, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 16, 2013, at McLaren-Northern Michigan Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born October 29, 1930, in Detroit, the son of Albert and Irene Ritter. Donald retired from General Motors and then went into Ministry in 1984. He and his wife moved to Boyne City in 2001 and he served at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Mancelona for 8 years. On May 17, 1952, in Detroit, he married the love of his life, Shirley (Grahlman) Ritter. He is also survived by his daughter, Anne Westphal of Bloomfield Hills; his brother, Marvin (Phylis) Ritter of Shelby Township; four grandchildren, Kate (Craig) Martin, Natalie Westphal, Peter (Kris) Westphal and Thomas Westphal; four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Trevor, Xavier and Cass; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death, in 1972, by his son, Donald Ritter Jr. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Mancelona. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Home. The burial along with other services will be in Macomb later in the week by Pixley Funeral Home.
