The Reverend Jeffrey Kurt Londgren passed from this life into the presence of his Savior Jesus on February 2, 2015, at the age of 59 in Charlevoix, Michigan. Pastor Londgren was born July 29, 1955, in Marshall, Minnesota where he also grew up and attended school. He attended Southwest State University (B.A. voice) in Marshall, Minn; Bethany Lutheran College (pre-seminary) in Mankato, Minn; and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary (M.Div.) in Mequon, Wisc . He married Elisa Maria Boniek August 16, 1981. He served a vicarage in Sun Prairie, Wisc. and was ordained into the Lutheran ministry in 1983. He served churches in Abilene, Tex; Payson, Ariz; Petoskey; and, at the time of his death, churches in East Jordan, Hillman, and Rogers City. He was an accomplished musician and singer, and gave piano and voice lessons for many years. He enjoyed teaching and gardening, but sharing the Word of God was his vocation and passion. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Elisa; their six children, Brandon (Rachel) of Mankato, Minn; Jerusha (Andrew) Cascione of Apple Valley, Minn; Trevor (Jennifer) of Mankato, Minn; Peter of Mankato, Minn; Breanna (Benjamin) Castiglione of Minneapolis, Minn; and James; four grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Aria, and Jonathan; his sisters, Cheryl (Mark) Nook of Billings, Mont., and Susan (Harvey) Reckard of Menomonie, Wisc.; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Shirley Londgren of Marshall, Minn. Visitation is Friday, Feb. 6 at 2-4 pm. and 6-8 pm. at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. The funeral service is 1 pm, Saturday, Feb. 7 at Faith Lutheran Church in Hillman where visitation will begin visitation at 11 am. Memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran College or to one of his churches.
