PALMER CHRISTOPHER "CHRIS" MULONAS, 88, of Central Lake, died on August 14, 2010 at Munson Medical Center. Chris was born on April 18, 1922 in Centerline, the son of Rev. Nicholas and Elizabeth (Pitul) Mulonas. Chris was a long time resident of Warren before moving to Central lake 30 years ago. He graduated from Lawrence Institute of Technology as a draftsman then went on to own and operate Chris Cartage Company, a steel hauling company. Upon retirement, he moved to Central Lake where he drove for Dial-a-Ride for over 15 years. He was a long time member of the Veterans Motor Car Club of America, enjoyed his antique cars, horses, bowling and was a former member of the Central Lake Lions Club. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Leonard) Mulonas, two children, James (Diane) Mulonas of St. Clair Shores, Christine Elizabeth (Michael) McCreary of Ellsworth, a brother Nicholas (Nicki) Mulonas of California, a sister Cleo (Jack) Burns of Florida, and two grandchildren, Lance and Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Helen Borse. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Antrim County Animal Shelter.
