P. Mike Moore, 81, of Central Lake, passed away on July 15, 2015 at his home. Mike was born on August 6, 1933 in Central Lake, the son of Cecil and Harriett (Albert) Moore. Mike served his country proudly in U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a life member of the Central Lake Torch Post # 6985 as well as a member of the East Jordan American Legion. Mike was a foreman for the Antrim County Road Commission retiring after 26 years of employment. His passions were outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing.. On October 6, 1956, in East Jordan, he married Martha Hebden who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Connie Spence of Lansing, Theresa (Dave) Knoch of Central Lake, Kathy (Stephen) Janeczek of Boyne City, a brother Patrick Moore of Central Lake, a sister Nancy Lambert of Leesburg, FL, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter Suzanne, his parents, 3 brother in laws, Jim Lambert, Jim Hebden, Bob Chaney and a sister in law Frances Hebden. Funeral services, with military honors, will take place on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Lake Public Schools (General Athletic Fund) P.O. Box 128, Central Lake, MI, 49622. All donors please put General Athletic Fund in memo. Interment will take place in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
