Olga C. Dann, “Grandma Dann” 92, of Mancelona, went to be with her heavenly father on September 18, 2018 at Munson Medical Center.
Olga was born on December 10, 1925, in Ionia, MI, the daughter of Joseph and Vivia (Worthy) Bailey.
Olga was employed at various places through the years. She worked at Sheridan Hospital and Dahlquist stores both for several years. Most recently she worked at the Paullin-Penzien Funeral Homes , which eventually became Mortensen Funeral Homes. She was a very important part of the funeral home. She had a warm smile for everyone who walked in the door and made people feel at ease even in a very difficult time.
She was a long time member of the Mancelona Free Methodist Church and in past years was a member of the W.M.I. (Women’s Ministries International) as well as the Y.P.M.S. (Young Peoples Missionary Society). She was also a quilt maker and enjoyed sharing her work with friends and family.
She was known as “Grandma Dann” to many children through the years, too many to even count. She was kind, compassionate, loving and caring and was truly one of a kind. Her faith was a priority in her life and no matter what was going on in the world she turned to her faith and it always got her through.
She is survived by a daughter Viva Dann, a son James Dann both of Mancelona as well as many adopted grandchildren and church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Charles Dann and her parents.
