Norman Taube

Norman Kenneth Taube, 68, of Torch Lake, died Sunday, September 28th, 2008. He was born July 22, 1940, in Kankakee, Ill., the son of Harold and Cleo (Rich) Taube. Norm proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a Detroit police officer for 20 yrs before moving to northern Michigan. He worked in security at Shanty Creek Resorts and the Cherry Capital Airport. He was currently the Torch Lake Township Constable. On July 13, 1984, in Macomb County, he married Gail E. Renius who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons; Mark (Robin) Taube, Randy Renius, Todd Renius, grandchildren; Zachary and Bethni Taube, Lauren King, Isaac and Max Renius, mother Naomi Thomas, brother Jeff Thomas, sister Paula Reiff. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Taube. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 3, 5:00 p.m., at the new Torch Lake Twp. Community Services Building, 2355 US 31 N., just North of Torchport Airport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Norman K. Taube Memorial Fund at Fifth Third Bank in Elk Rapids.
