Norma Vallad

Norma M Vallad, 83 of Bellaire died peacefully, Nov. 26, 2016 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. She was born June 16, 1933 in Detroit, the daughter of Henry and Hattie (Wurfel) Klingelhofer. Norma graduated from Bellaire High School in 1951, and retired after more than 25 years of faithful service for the United States Department of Agriculture. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Christmas was a very special time of year for Norma and she always looked forward to it. She enjoyed cooking for everyone. Surviving Norma are her children Robert (Denise) Hughey of Bellaire and Elisa Hughey of Hudsonville. Also surviving are her sister Hattie (Ken) VanHaaften of Grand Rapids, her grandchildren Kayla Hughey, Hannah Hughey, Hilary Hughey, great grandchildren Aaliayh, Alayna, Kayden, and Azrael Hughey, nephews Eric VanHaaften and Chip Hierlihy, nieces Jill Dover and Peggy Berta. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Irma Hierlihy. Funeral services will be held Sat. Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the funeral service in Lakeview Cemetery, Bellaire.
