Nick A. Potter Sr., 50 of Central Lake, died Tues. Jan. 7, 2014 as the result of a snowmobile accident. He was born Sept. 24, 1963, in Bellaire, the son of Fred Potter and Janet Barber. Nick was a 1981 graduate of Central Lake High School and lived his entire life in the area. Nick was a motorcycle and snowmobile enthusiast, spending many hours in the great outdoors of northern Michigan that he loved so much. He also enjoyed his many canoe trips down the Jordan River. Nick worked for many years at the East Jordan Iron Works and at the Central Lake Industries. He also did general maintenance for many people around the area. Surviving Nick are his 12 cherished grandchildren that he loved to spend much of his time with, his children Teressa (Tim Buffman) Potter, Melinda (Jed) McDaniel, Mary Potter, Nick (Suzanna Dugan) Potter, Jessica Potter, Katherine Potter, Timothy Potter, his siblings Wayne (Wanda) Potter, Jim (Cindy) Potter, Tim (Lori) Potter, Nate (Hope) Wolverton, Darlene (Ed) Wilson and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister Phyllis, and brother Don Boh. Funeral services will be held Sat. Jan. 11, at 1p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends Fri. Jan. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. also at the funeral. A spring burial will be held in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake.
