Nelson Bennett

Nelson James Bennett, 78, of Echo Township died Saturday, March 31,2018 at Medilodge of Traverse City.

He was born September 13, 1939 in Echo Township the son of Lawrence and Bernice (Savage) Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was a tool and die maker with Detroit Diesel until his retirement.

On February 13, 1988 he married Dorothy Flannery in Northville and they made their home in
Detroit. They moved to Echo Township in 2002.

He enjoyed playing cards.

Surviving are his wife Dorothy, Children: Kenneth Bennett of Pontiac and Gary Bennett of Arizona, Step Children: Renee Flannery of East Jordan, Julie (Sabah) Sawa of Westland, Jennifer (Carl) Figliola of New York, New York, and Johnda (Anthony) Cece of Brighton, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren., brothers Lawrence Bennett of Boyne City, Brian (Rita) Bennett of Boyne Falls and Ronald Bennett of East Jordan.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.
